Where does Forever’s Hydrating Serum fit into my skincare routine?

Since our Hydrating Serum came along, you may be wondering whereabouts this sits in your routine as a whole and how to maximise the benefits of all of your skincare products just by including this new product into your day.

How hyaluronic acid works

Forever’s Hydrating Serum contains four types of hyaluronic acid, a moisture magnet able to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. The humectant properties of hyaluronic acid helps to draw moisture into the skin. If you apply hyaluronic acid to the skin, it will help your skin to draw in and retain more moisture.

Your skincare routine

Bearing this in mind, the best place to fit Forever’s Hydrating Serum in your routine is just before your moisturiser and eye cream, to help all of your products get the best results. Here’s an ideal routine, so you can see what we mean:

The first step should always be to cleanse away any makeup, sweat, dirt or debris with a good cleanser. Our Infinite by Forever Hydrating Cleanser is great for dry or ageing skin, and our Sonya Refreshing Gel Cleanser works well for combination-to-oily skin types.

Once or twice per week you can follow up with our Smoothing Exfoliator to buff away dead skin cells and leave that fresh skin open to receiving the benefits of the rest of your routine. Any other day, you can move straight to the next step: applying Balancing Toner to remove excess dirt, minimise the appearance of pores and hydrate the skin.

This is where your serum comes into play. Apply 1-2 pumps of Hydrating Serum to your fingers and then gently work in circular motions over the face and neck. Not only will this envelope your skin in silky moisture, but it will exponentially enhance the benefits of the products you apply in the next two steps!

If you use Awakening Eye Cream, apply that around your eyes next and follow with your preferred moisturiser – Infinite By Forever Restoring Crème for dry/ageing skin, or Sonya Soothing Gel Moisturizer if your skin is on the combination/oily side. If you’re doing a morning routine, it’s wise to use an SPF as well – something like our Protecting Day Lotion or Aloe Sunscreen – to shield yourself from harmful UVA and UVB rays.

Though there are many other products which can go into rounding out a full skincare routine, this is a good basic routine to follow every single day! Let us know in the comments what your skincare routine looks like!
